Easy-to-Make (and Delicious) Bone Broth Energy Bars

How to make Healthy Organic Energy Bars your family will LOVE

I wanted to make some “energy” bars for the Wing Chun martial arts students on the day of their Level 1 grading. I found what I had in the cupboard and asked Source to guide me as to the proportions needed to make the bars. Here is the result! And yes, they taste REALLY good! Enjoy!

Goji Bone Broth Collagen Energy Bites/Balls


  1. 8 oz Pitted Medjool dates
  2. 1 scoop Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides powder (blue canister)
  3. 1 scoop Epigenetics Chocolate Bone Broth powder
  4. ¼ cup raw cacao powder
  5. ½ cup dried Goji berries
  6. Coconut butter ¾ jar (approx. 1 ¾ cup)
  7. 2 TBSP organic honey
  8. Optional 2 TBSP raw cacao nibs or chia seeds
  9. Optional Lacuma powder (to sprinkle on top)

In a food processor, pulse the dates into small pieces.  If it forms a ball, you can take it out and pulse ingredients 2 through 5 separately.  Add coconut butter and honey to the processor and pulse until well mixed.  Add the raw cacao nibs or chia seeds at the end and pulse briefly until mixed.

Dump the mixture in a mixing bowel.  Using your clean hands, mix the dates (if separated at the beginning) with the rest of the mixture until well-combined.


To make bars:

Line an 8×8 or 9×9 baking pain with wax paper.  Sprinkle the optional lacuma powder evenly on the bottom (or you can wait to do this after it’s all done) Press the mixture using your hands into the pan evenly.  As your hands warm the mixture, it might be a little easier to spread because the coconut butter melts a bit.  You may wish to use the bottom of another pan to press it flat on top if you like.

Sprinkle lacuma powder on top and spread a thin layer with your hands evenly on top. Place in the freezer to harden for 10 minutes.  Pulling up the sides of the wax paper, take the whole thing out of the pan.  Turn upside down onto a clean cutting board or plate.  Sprinkle or spread the lacuma powder evenly on the bottom in a thin layer.  Turn back over and cut into square bars.


To make balls:

Roll the mixture into truffle size balls.  Roll in lacuma powder so they don’t stick to each other.  Place in layered rolls in an airtight container and put in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden.  Store in the fridge.  Consume within 10 days.
